Volunteers needed to help in Huntington’s disease research
Researchers at Beaumont Hospital and Trinity College Dublin, led by Professor Niall Pender and Professor Orla Hardiman, are seeking volunteers to participate in research into Huntington’s disease in Ireland. The Meet the Researchers Webinar of May 31, 2021 provides an overview of their work. Please share the Webinar and their Information leaflet with your family and friends.
Are you interested in contributing to Huntington’s disease research?
Please contact the research team if you are over 18 yrs and fall into any of the following groups:
- First- and second-degree relatives of people with Huntington’s disease (Parents, siblings, children, uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, grandchildren, half-siblings)
- People WITH the Huntington’s disease gene, at any stage of disease
- Spouses / Partners / Caregivers of people living with Huntington’s disease
- Non-HD volunteers who are NOT related to anyone with Huntington’s disease (e.g.: Friends, carers, partners/spouses)
You may also be invited to participate in more detailed research involving an online neuropsychological assessment and a brief physical examination at a later date. These are optional, extra research items and will be discussed with you individually if you are interested and depending on suitability.
This research involves completing an online questionnaire at your convenience.
