Fundraising for HDAI

Fundraise

Fundraising is a crucial source of income in assisting us with the services and supports we provide to individuals and families affected by Huntington's disease.  We greatly appreciate the support of our wonderful volunteers who raise funds and awareness.

iDonate  is an online platform assisting charities and non-profits with fundraising. Volunteers can set up their own fundraising page online (click Start Fundraising on the Menu options) or you can call us for information. Active Huntington's Disease fundraising pages are available to view here.

With the help of dedicated volunteers we support  events throughout Ireland including:

Joe Doran’s HD Awareness Walk takes place in July at  Lough Key Forest Park, Boyle, Co Roscommon. The 2024 walk is on July 13th Joe Doran’s HD Awareness Walk . To  donate online see: iDonate.ie | Support Joe Doran Huntington's Walk 13 July 2024

Volunteers also take part in fundraising events such as the Mini Marathon and other charity walks, runs and challenges.

Mini Marathon – Each year wonderful women take part on behalf of HDAI. In 2024:  Aisling, Lisa and Marie;  Josie and Sinead, Shauna and Rohanna and Stephanie, Dave, Warren and Erica supported HDAI in the Dublin Mini Marathon.

Corporate Giving

Does your workplace have a corporate social responsibility program? Some HDAI fundraisers have sought matched funding from their employers and by doing so they have doubled their sponsorship raised from activities including company Bake Offs, Coffee mornings and Fun Runs. HDAI is registered on Benevity and Your Cause platforms.

Perhaps your company might consider matching sponsorship or including HDAI in their Charity of the Year nominations. Please contact HDAI on 01 872 1303, or email at info@huntingtons.ie to discuss further.

Governance

HDAI’s Annual Financial Statement and Activity Reports are available here . HDAI has formally committed to complying with the Statement of Guiding Principles for Fundraising.

Statement of Guiding Principles for fundraising

In order for HDAI to comply with the Charities Regulator Guidance for Charitable Organisations on Fundraising From The Public  (launched September 2017) it is our duty to look after our fundraisers and donors.

We aim, with the help of you our fundraisers, to follow best practice and to operate in a transparent, effective and professional manner. Fundraising activities will not be unreasonably persistent, intrusive or place undue pressure on people to donate

HDAI adopted ‘The guiding principles for fundraising’ in 2015 and has  committed to complying with the Guidelines for Charitable Organisations on Fundraising from the Public which were formally discussed and adopted at a Board meeting on 13 February 2020.
